Welcome to Team Vegan! I hope you are excited about making some changes to your diet. This first week our goal is to add soy milk to our diet and eliminate other beverages except water. Instead of soy, you may wish to use other kinds of plant-based milks, such as almond milk, rice milk, or coconut milk. For variety, I sometimes use flavored (vanilla) soy milk.
Don't feel like you are giving up all of your favorite healthy drinks. Many of them may actually be food. If you put an orange in the blender and call it orange juice, it is still an orange, and therefore qualifies as a food. The same could be said for Red Machine Naked Boosted 100% Juice Smoothy. It may look like a beverage, but consider it a food. By changing how you think about it, you will be more likely to treat it with the respect it deserves, and not just guzzle it down with no regard for its 170 calories per 8 ounces. It is healthy, but packed with nutritious calories.
I hope you are having fun trying out some new eating behaviors. I would enjoy hearing your comments.
What has been the hardest part of the challenge so far?
Have you noticed any changes to your health, well-being, or weight?
Do you have any suggestions for others who are trying to change to a vegan diet?
